It’s been almost 4 days since they went in to fix my knee and everything seems to have gone according to plan. The doctor says that my kneecap was out of place by about half an inch, which… would explain a lot. But presumably it’s in the correct spot now, and all will be better moving forward.
A few post-surgery observations:
- Health insurance for the win. For reals, guys. How can we not make this a thing for everyone?
- If I ever buy a house, it will have a handicap-accessible shower. Getting into and out of the tub on crutches felt like I was taking my life into my hands.
- I knew I wouldn’t be able to do much on crutches, but I am kind of amazed by how much I am not able to do. Unless I can carry it in my teeth, hook it over one finger, or put it in a bag around my neck, I simply can’t carry anything. Like food.
- I need more Project Runway.
I’m just lucky I have such nice cats to look after me during my recuperation:
